Congratulations to Blue Ennui and his "I will Lay You in Obscenities", May's Poem of the Month:

I will Lay You in Obscenities

of flowers. Just look
how brazenly they display
their pistils and stamens
shamelessly begging

a rub or brush from some
passerby, heedless if bee
or butterfly, hummingbird
or the ubiquitous wind,

even the hem of a skirt
slumming through
their vainglorious
heads (beautiful infidels)

will suffice their need,
their brilliant throbbing
nakedness astounding
us as we rise and rise

out of ourselves and spin
again slow as fat October
mud daubers, circling
the final terminal

departure, their temporal
heavenly bodies swollen
with pollen.

of Native Blue Poetry

Founded April 26th, 2002, Native Blue Poetry is a community of poets from all ages, skill levels and walks of life.  We foster creativity through constructive critique, but also feature a non-critique forum for those who would rather simply share their poetry.

We are pleased to have Dorothy D. Mienko present our "Poem of the Day", where she showcases one poem from a noted poet daily, well almost daily.  Thank you Dorothy, for all you do.

Native Blue is also happy to announce the commencement of its chat room, lovingly referred to as "Blue Monday Chat."  Join us every Monday at 6pm Pacific Standard Time for live poetry presentation and discussion, and friendly chat.  We hope to see you there on June 17th.

Please feel free to introduce yourself in our Introductions forum, or relax in our new "Lounge" forum, where you can kick up your feet, leave messages, rant, gossip...anything goes.

We welcome all poetry at Native Blue.  We hope to see you there soon.
